Kinja'd!!!12 Kinja'd!!! 55

So on January 1, 2018, my fatass weighed 278 lbs. So I did try to eat better this year, including dropping 11 lbs the first month. But with no time to exercise due to work and little free time for social life, my weight fluctuated month to month. The good news is that I never gained back enough to match my starting weight, with closest being within 3 lbs. Anyway, I only weighed myself at the beginning of each month to keep from obsessing over this. Well as of this afternoon when I woke up from NYE celebrating, my scale showed 255 lbs (254.6 to be exact). 23 pounds, averaged 1.9 lbs a month or .48 lbs/week. Not bad, eh? Still a fatass, just less of me

So obviously, my new year’s resolution (one of many) is to not only keep this going but to put in the extra effort. I will have to figure out how to fit in time for the gym — the easiest would be to go before work. Gym opens @ 5 am. Have to be at work by 7 am. BUT I FUCKING HATE MORNINGS.

Good luck to my fellow Oppos and Jalops with your new year resolutions!!!*

Goodnight, Oppo.

I’ve got a bit of a head start, but quitting sodas. I had made it two weeks, but cheated while I was sick. Drinking 3 sodas a day is going to kill me, and will definitely help me on my other resolution to be less of a fatass.

congrats dude! couple things that would really help if you still want to lose weight...

drink plenty o’ water... quit drinking alcohol, soda, sugary stuff... if you have it occasionally like once or twice a week that’s fine

same goes for fast food

eat less in general, especially snacks

try not to eat after 8PM (this one REALLY helps)

oh and exercise/work out. performing exorcisms also helps

i went from 145 to around 128-129 doing those things... in all of 2018 i had *ONE* can of soda. i probably weigh like 130-132 now after eating a lot of nonsense this weekend but it’ll go back down

Dumping soda helps a lot, but make sure you slowly bring down your caffeine consumption, that is unless you like headaches.

Coffee/Tea are only as bad as the stuff you put in them.

ditto... the only additional piece of experience I can add is that I find more success doing non-cardio exercises in the evenings, seems to keep my metabolism up and helps me sleep better... (assuming I can motivate myself to do it...) Congrats - heck of an achievement .

if you are short on time, go for a 20 minute run every other day. It will fit in much better than dragging your ass to the gym. I feel like it takes more effort to get to the gym too. this way you can just toss on the running sneakers and go around the block. That will help massively with the weight drop. I lost like 20 lbs in a month by running and eating just a little better.

I finished 2016 weighing in at 245 pounds. I finished 2017 at 204 pounds. And I finished 2018 at 240 pounds. My goal for 2019 is to stabilize my weight. I can lose 50 pounds in a few months (my body can burn a lot of weight when I don't eat so much junk food and exercise) , but it takes all of a bunch of bad days to put me back into unhealthy eating habits.

I should really get some ex ercising on the go...I really don’t do any. I’m a stringbean since birth (152lbs atm, but always weighed 120lbs for YEARS, even into university )...but now that I’m in my 30s, the weight is starting to gain a bit and I notice that I get winded pretty easily...

You are where I was 10 years ago. I’m still pretty skinny but now 41 and ab out 180 the pants have definitely crept up a size.

I’ m not particularly active but at least my job has me up and around most days.

I’ve  Definitely cut way back on sodas in the last couple years but rest of my diet is not great.

I went on a work trip a couple months ago, so I obviously ate out 3 meals a day , drank sodas, etc. I’m not much of a soda drinker except for every now and then when I’m eating out, but after just a week I was feeling cravings for soda. That stuff is so addictive.

I’ve dropped 19 pounds the last 5 weeks. Changed my diet like something fierce: zero, zip, nada on the sugar for 4 of those weeks . If it has sugar, I avoided it, including most fruit and some veggies . I do have some now once in a while, but not like I us ed to.   It took 2 weeks for the cravings to go away, that was the hardest part. Eat more fish, and lots more green veggies. I get to work 30 minut es early and walk for 20 minutes. I walk fo r 30 minutes during my lunch break. Then I walk for about an hour after work (I do it all at work, so don’t have worry about going to a gym, park, or anything). And I have started controlling my portions. I eat about 1/2 to 1/ 3 of what I used to. I started the year at 160, finished the year at 220. Back down to 200. I was pre-diabetic and my heart was having issues again ... Bes t thing I did was setting a schedule and sticking to it.

My wife has been doing the keto thing, and she is seriously strict about it . She has dropped over 60 pounds, from 200 to 140 in the same amount of time. She doesn’t work, so she gets mor e intense exercises  as well.

Stay away from fast food and soda . Seriously.

Ouch. I try to avoid soda as much as possible. Usually, I try to get Powerade Zero from fast food places if they have those newer fountain machines with ~ 100 varieties. Restaurants, water and/or unsweetened tea. It takes a while to get used to it.

On a side note when I have a soda at home, it's only with pure sugar. And when I'm desperate at work, a Mtn Dew or Diet Mtn Dew (and 100 lashes).

Gay. His designation would be Gay.

He didn’t identify as Gay until the 1980s because before then , you got a lot grief/trouble for coming out as gay... like what happened to Alan Turing:

TBH, the biggest reason that I want to get to a gym is to use their Elliptical machines.  Much easier on me joint.  But my doc has said at least try walking...which reminds me that I need to order a pedometer (I rather listen to music on my phone that use it as a pedometer).

Oh no, you wouldn’t die at all. What would happen is a pharmaceutical company (hopefully you choose a company that is part of the European Union — the Euro is worth more than the dollar) would set you up to donate blood, 450mL/1 pint every 3 months for a year. Each sample is gene mapped , alpha and beta tested, then synthesized into a serum, then eventually down the road, a pill.

You’d be so rich that you could singlehandly pay the consolidated national  student loan debt, and only pay 1/2 of 1% of your net worth to do so!
